There appears to have been another report of substance abuse within the world of Major League Baseball recently, but it’s a revelation that many wouldn’t expect. It’s just been revealed that Texas Rangers’ Ron Washington tested positive for a banned substance, during the team’s last season.
It has not only come as a complete surprise to Washington’s team, but most likely to the fans as well. Before Washington’s random drug test back in 2009, there was no hint at all that linked the Texas Rangers manager to cocaine use. Since then, Washington has apologized and offered to resign.

According to a report at rightpundits.com, Washington offered his resignation last July, claiming that he’d made a grave mistake. He went on to say how he’d brought shame to his family and hurt a lot of people as well as himself. “If I could take it back, I would,” he carried on to say about his mistakes.
Both the team manager Nolan Rylan, and the commissioner rejected Washington’s resignation offer. Cocaine rehab and a tight testing schedule were given to him instead. Washington has made every impression that he is now committed to a full recovery from his drug habit.
