Mixed martial arts fans are in for yet another treat tonight, when the UFC Live event takes place at the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado. The official weigh-in took place yesterday, and it was definitely great news as all 22 fighters made their required weights.
According to sportsnet.ca, Sunday night’s event is being headlined by the light-heavyweight contender match-up between Brandon “The Truth” Vera – who weighed in at 204 pounds – and Jon “Bones” Jones – weighing in slightly more at 206 pounds.
“This is a big opportunity for me,” Jones said about tonight’s bout. But Vera, who is 10 years Jones’s senior and the most accomplished fighter he has had to face, doesn’t intend to make things easy for the 22-year old fighter, saying “He’ll find out what I’m all about on Sunday.”
Besides the headlining bout, the main card also features two heavyweight fights. Junior Dos Santos, who weighed in at 238 pounds, is up against Gabriel Gonzaga, who weighed 255 pounds and Paul Buentello (246 pounds), is facing Cheick Kongo (237 pounds).
