American Idol 2010: Diddy-Dirty Money Debut New Song

Before last night’s “American Idol” results show aired, viewers were warned about and promised “a strobe-light effect like you’ve never seen before.” The 10-second spectacle came during Diddy-Dirty Money’s debut performance of their new song “Hello, Good Morning.”

Shortly after this week’s mentor Usher had performed, came the trio’s performance of the new single, which is from their upcoming album “Last Train to Paris.” Diddy arrived on stage by coming down a staircase all dressed in white, while live violins and timpani kicked off the track.

He was then met on the smoky stage by his Dirty Money mates Kalenna and Dawn Richard. The two were quite impressive, managing to keep up with their energetic frontman. Halfway through the track, Diddy introduced the light show with a quick address to those watching at home.

“America, right about now I want you to turn your televisions up and your lights down. And rock with us!” Diddy shouted out from the stage. The strobe-light effect may have only lasted a few seconds, but it was still quite impressive and probably even more to the live audience.

What did you think of Diddy’s new track and performance?
