It wasn’t that long ago, that we didn’t know anything about the cast for the upcoming comic-book movie “The First Avenger: Captain America.” And now it appears that it’s all starting to come together, with more and more cast members being announced.
The latest announcement came on Sunday, in which it was revealed that 26-year old actor Sebastian Stan – known for his role as Carter Baizen on “Gossip Girl” – will be joining the movie’s cast as James Buchanan aka “Bucky” Barnes – Captain America’s sidekick.

The movie, which also stars Chris Evans as Captain America and Hugo Weaving as Red Skull, has Joe Johnston as its director and Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus as its screenwriters. According to reports, Stan originally screen tested for the lead role.
He may have lost out to Chris Evans on the lead role, but he definitely didn’t come away empty handed. Instead, the movie bosses asked him to play the role of “Bucky” Barnes. No more details have been given at this stage, as to the exact role Sebastian will play.
It’s not actually been made public, whether Stan will be playing the orphan “Bucky” Barnes who acts as a mascot to Captain America and dies in the World War II adventure, or the revived character of 2005 that appears in the modern comic series.
