The crucial moment that every “Dancing with the Stars” fan had been waiting for finally arrived last night, and I think you all know what moment I am talking about. Yes, the moment that everyone had been anticipating was when the winner was finally announced.
But as reported by Meghan Carlson from buddytv.com, it wasn’t as simple as just finding out the results right away. Oh no, people had to wait an agonizing two hours before they found out who exactly took home the mirrorball trophy and the winner’s title.
Before the results were announced, we got to see previously eliminated contestants return to the dance floor one again, with a routine to “I’m So Excited.” This was followed by the three finalists taking to the floor again, to perform their Argentine Tangos.
Nicole Scherzinger delivered yet another outstanding performance, but of course we probably expected that. They were followed by Evan and Anna, who also gave a powerful performance. Finally Erin and Maksim took to the floor, with another beautiful performance.
The judges then delivered their verdicts, scoring Nicole and Derek in 1st with 30 points, Evan and Anna 2nd with 28 points, and Erin and Maksim 3rd with 26 points. After some more performances from previous contestants, it was time for the first elimination.
Erin and Maksim were then announced as the couple who came third. I think many could have predicted that though. This was followed by more performances from previously eliminated contestants, including Kate Gosselin’s Paso Doble to “Paparazzi.”
Then it was time for the final battle between Evan and Anna and Nicole and Derek. First up were Nicole and Derek, who performed the Jive. They completely nailed this routine and the judges scored them a perfect 30. That just left Evan and Anna to perform.
They danced the Quickstep to “I Want You to Want Me,” which scored them 28 points. Then the moment finally arrived – the winner’s announcement. Drum roll please people….and the winner of this year’s “Dancing with the Stars” competition is Nicole and Derek!!!
