2010 MTV Movie Awards: ‘New Moon’ Dominates Awards

The 2010 MTV Movie Awards took place at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles yesterday (Sunday) and while there were plenty of worthy nominees this year, only a select few could actually walk away with their very own Golden Popcorn statuette.

And as reported by Josh Wigler at mtv.com, at the end of the consistently funny and often emotional 2-hour ceremony, a total of 12 competitors walked away victorious. This included “Twilight” stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, and Anna Kendrick.

However, it was “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” that managed to come top at yesterday’s ceremony. The vampire sequel managed to take the top award for Best Movie, beating the likes of “Avatar,” “Alice in Wonderland” and “The Hangover.”

The award for Best Male Performance went to none other than Robert Pattinson, for his role as Edward Cullen in “New Moon.” And the award for the Best Female Performance went to Robert’s co-star and rumored girlfriend Kristen Stewart.

Anna Kendrick won the award for Breakthrough Performance, for her role in “Up in the Air” alongside George Clooney. The award for Best Villain went to Tom Felton for his role as Draco Malfoy in the “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” movie.

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson also walked away with the award for Best Kiss, while Robert Pattinson walked away with the Global Superstar Award. The award for Best Fight went to Beyonce Knowles and Ali Larter for the movie “Obsessed.”
