The moment has almost arrived people!! The 2010 FIFA World Cup is only a day away from kicking off now – Friday, June 11th – and as you can very well imagine, millions of football fans from all around the world are gearing themselves up for this highly-anticipated sporting event.
As mentioned previously, the 2010 World Cup opening celebrations kick off tonight – Thursday, June 10th – with a special opening celebrations concert. Then tomorrow, the actual opening ceremony begins, followed by the opening game between the hosts South Africa and Mexico.

I for one am looking forward to watching England’s first match against the United States on Saturday, even though I’m not an avid football fan. People in the UK have been gearing up for the event for weeks, hanging flags from their houses and attaching flags to their cars.
Another game which is taking place on Friday is the game between Uruguay and France. Who do you think will win this match? How do you think England will fair up to the US on Saturday? And the biggest question of them all: who do you think will win the 2010 World Cup?
