As many of you will know, Thursday night saw Game 4 of the 2010 NBA Finals played between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics. But before the actual game kicked off, American R&B/soul singer-songwriter took to the court, to perform the National Anthem.
However, Baker unfortunately didn’t do a very good job, and fell short of hitting the song’s key notes, Michael Wursthorn from nydailynews.com reports. The 52-year old singer started off the song a little shaky, and appeared to take a nosedive from there.

Things just got worse for Baker as she stumbled through the closing of the song, and failed to nail the finale. Shortly after she’d finished singing, fans started taking to the popular social networking site Twitter to sound off about her disappointing performance.
One user tweeted: “I love her and all, but y (sic) does Anita Baker sound like a dying cat singing the “Star Spangled Banner!?” Another wrote: “NBA Finals Where Amazingly Terrible National Anthems Happen…I love you Anita Baker but what the hell was that?”
What did you think of her performance? Was she that bad? Let us know your thoughts.
