Nintendo 3DS Finally Revealed: No Price or Release Date Yet

After months of rumors and teasing, Nintendo finally made it official and unveiled its latest handheld gaming device – the Nintendo 3DS – during the E3 2010 Expo yesterday (Tuesday, June 15th). And here’s what we now know about the latest in gaming technology.

According to a report by Rachel King at zdnet.com, the best part about the new 3DS handheld console is the fact that it displays 3D graphics, without having to wear 3D-enabled glasses. The device features dual screens, with the 3D widescreen up top and a 2D display at the bottom.

However, if 3D really isn’t your cup of tea or you find it too distracting, there is in fact a sliding mechanism that allows you to adjust it or even turn it off. And the final 3D element is a three-part 3D camera on the front of the device, which allows users to shoot 3D images.

The games that we can expect to arrive on the Nintendo 3DS includes “Mario Kart,” “Kid Icarus,” “The Sims” and even “Resident Evil.” However, the bad news is that there has been no mention of a release date or a price as of yet. We’ll keep you posted if we hear anything.
