The 2010 FIFA World Cup is now onto its eighth day of play today (Friday, June 18th), and the tournament has seen some pretty amazing matches over the last few days. Today’s schedule sees another three matches played, including the Slovenia vs. USA match.
As reported by Angela Asante at livesoccartv.com, the USA are facing Group C leaders Slovenia today, at the Ellis Park Stadium in Johannesburg. The question is: Will the Europeans be able to take victory over the USA and join Argentina in the last 16 of the 2010 FIFA World Cup?

Just like Switzerland’s win over Spain, Slovenia taking victory over USA will go down as one of the surprises of the tournament. Slovenia’s 1-0 victory over Algeria at the start of the tournament earned the team their very first win ever in a World Cup, and was a dream start for them.
Slovenia now has to prove that the three points they gained from the match against Algeria, wasn’t just a fluke. Meanwhile, the USA team is ready to win the game against Slovenia. USA’s Clint Dempsey said: “If we lose, we are pretty much done. We cannot lose the next game.”
USA midfielder and Captain Landon Donovan, said that there isn’t anything flashy about the Slovenian team and claimed they are not going to be spectacular. However, he then went on to say that Slovenia will be solid, and are going to be a very hard team to beat.
Who do you think will win this match? Will we see yet another surprise result?
