24-year old Russian tennis ace Dinara Safina – currently ranked as the world No. 21 – has unfortunately had to pull out of the 2010 Wimbledon Tennis Tournament, due to begin on Monday, June 21st, due to the long-term back injury she has been struggling with since late last season.
According to telegraph.co.uk, Safina was out of action for a total of three months, after retiring from her fourth-round match against fellow Russian Maria Kirilenko at the 2010 Australian Open back in January following an unfortunate relapse.

She then returned to the WTA Tour back in April, but after she won her first match at a tournament in Stuttgart, she has since failed to claim a win and recently lost in the first round in Holland. Already dropping to the world’s No.21, her ranking is certain to slump again.
