Comedian Joan Rivers has been sued for $2 million by her former manager, William Sammeth recently, after he claimed he was defamed in Rivers’ documentary. Legal papers state that in her documentary – “Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work” – Rivers said that he had disappeared.
But in fact, she had actually fired him, according to a report by Denise McGuigan at thecelebritycafe.com. According to a recent report from BBC News, Sammeth has also submitted a list of Rivers’ work, for which he claims that he is owed ten percent.

However, the 77-year old comedian has responded to the claims in a statement, and says that Sammeth was “properly terminated” in 2009 so therefore, she does not owe him any money. Sammeth claims that Joan’s career was “dormant” until he became her manager in 2002.
Sammeth – who says that he helped Rivers win last year’s “Celebrity Apprentice” show – is now demanding $200,000, while seeking another $2 million in damages. Joan still insists that he is claiming for money that he is not entitled to.
