A St. Louis based genetics firm is about to start searching for the answer to one of the most fascinating scientific questions: How on earth is heavy metal star Ozzy Osbourne still alive, after years and years of smoking, taking drugs and drinking alcohol?
According to a fox2now.com article by George Sells, Osbourne wants to know the answer to that question himself, and will be donating a sample of his DNA so it can be examined by scientists. Ozzy is 61-years old now, and has probably abused his body more than we can imagine.

So scientists now want to find out, if there is something special in his DNA that is keeping him alive. After all, drugs, alcohol and partying hard have killed many a rock star, and even other celebrities for that matter. Ozzy is said to be donating blood for the experiment on Thursday.
Jon Armstrong of Cofactor Genomics said: “one of the interesting things would be to take the variation in his DNA sample and compare that to patients that have had cancer and patients that have passed away from other diseases.” It will be interesting to learn the results.
