James Cameron: ‘Avatar’ Makes a Record $350 Million

James Cameron must really be laughing right now…all the way to the bank that is!! His last movie “Avatar” – which released late last year – has managed to surpass his previous box office record, earning the director a whopping $350 million in less than a year.

According to Ranjan Bhaduri at thaindian.com, the movie has now grossed $2.7 billion at the global box office, and earned another $130 million from its DVD and Blu-ray sales. We may have predicted that it would do well, but we never knew it would earn this much.

And on August 27th of this year, the director – who also directed another smash hit movie “Titanic” – is going to re-release the “Avatar” movie, which obviously means he will rake in yet more profits. He also has a couple of sequels to “Avatar” up his sleeve as well.
