I don’t think anyone thought that they’d ever see a movie with the title “Titanic 2,” yet here we are reporting the news about it. Yes, you’ve read correctly – a trailer for “Titanic 2” – which comes from a production company called The Asylum – has just hit the Internet.
As reported by Peter Sciretta at slashfilm.com, The Asylum is a direct-to-dvd production company that produces cheap knock-offs of big-budget Hollywood movies. These movies have been dubbed as “Knockbusters,” and “Titanic 2” is just the latest.

“Titanic 2,” which stars Brooke Burns, Marie Westbrook, Shane Van Dyke – who also wrote and directed it – and Bruce Davison, is due to be released onto DVD on August 24th. Other titles from The Asylum include “The Terminators,” “Snakes on a Train,” and “I Am Omega.”
The movie is set around the 100th anniversary of the original voyage, when “Titanic 2” follows exactly the same path as the original. However, when a tsunami throws an iceberg into the path of the modern luxury liner, both the crew and passengers have to fight to stop the same happening.
