Vicky Entwistle Quitting ‘Coronation Street’ after 14 Years

It looks like “Coronation Street” is about to lose one of its favorite stars. 41-year old actress Vicky Entwistle – who plays mouth factory worker Janice Battersby in the long-running ITV soap – has recently announced that she is quitting the show, after 14 years.

According to the soap’s bosses, Vicky agonized over her decision to leave, but finally decided that the soap’s 50th anniversary year was the perfect time to wave goodbye, a report at the Press Association says. However, she did say that she could have played Janice forever.

Despite the fact that “Coronation Street” means so much to her, Vicky admitted that she had been thinking of leaving for some time. Something really good has come out of her time on the show and that’s her husband Andrew Chapman, who used to work in the props department.

“The programme has given me my husband Andy,” she said, while explaining how they met and got together on the soap. A spokeswoman for the show would not reveal any details on Vicky’s exit, so I guess the fans will just have to wait and see what happens.
