Thousands of music fans gathered at Chicago’s Grant Park yesterday (Friday, August 6th), for the start of the Lollapalooza 2010 music festival. There were plenty of acts lined up for day one of the three-day event, but it appeared to be Lady Gaga who was creating all the buzz.
According to a recent associatedcontent.com article by Victoria Leigh Miller, Gaga turned up a bit earlier, so she could check out the Semi Precious Weapon’s performance. The eccentric singer then decided to join them for a little stage diving, before making out with singer Justin Tranter.
However, when it came down to Lady Gaga’s performance, she received a few mixed reactions. If you asked MTV whether she lived up to all the hype, they would probably say yes. They described Lady Gaga as the “Queen of Lollapalooza,” and the “overwhelming favorite.”
Time Out Chicago on the other hand, described Gaga’s set as indulgent. They also made a note that several fans even vacated the Gaga performance to go and watch The Strokes instead. One blogger even said he was disappointed with Gaga’s performance.
