Lady Gaga Overtakes Britney on Twitter: Social Media Queen

Pop princess Britney Spears has just been dethroned from being the most-followed person on Twitter, by none other than record-breaking singer Lady Gaga. This achievement doesn’t really come as a surprise however, as Lady Gaga was expected to overtake the “Circus” singer sooner-or-later.

According to a recent article at nbcsandiego.com by Daniel Macht, the “Paparazzi” singer had reached at least 5,677,803 followers on the popular social networking website by late Friday evening. Britney Spears in the meantime had reached a total of 5,671,738 by the same time.

    Seriously? Britany can't hold a candle to Lady Gaga. Britney is washed up and yesterday's news, dying to scrap together a comeback, while Lady Gaga is cementing the new standards for pop music. Say what you want about her, but there is no one who is more influential right now. Lady Gaga isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Britany's just lucky anyone still cares to follow her trivial life on Twitter.
