Password Issue Before PSN Back Online
We still have no idea when the PlayStation Network will be restored, but the password issue needs to be addressed on other services even before PSN is back online. We have been advised that if we use the same password on other services, such as banks then we had best change these passwords right away. Sony has said that although passwords were encrypted, they used hash tags and not plain text.
The worrying thing about all this is that SOE has also been hacked, which has led to this service being taken down as well. This would mean that hackers could now have password details for both, and if they see that you use the same passwords for both, then you can be certain that they will make it their mission to gain access to other websites that you use.
If you have Facebook, Twitter, or an online bank account, then you had best log in and change your password to something different. We have always been told never to use the same password twice, and for those with a good memory this will not be an issue. However, there are some who struggle to remember the one password.
This is certainly a huge dilemma, one that will not go away. Please, change all your passwords now, and never believe emails when they ask for your password. Sony has already said that they will not ask you any of these details, and we know that banks never do either.

Some may be getting annoyed, but as someone said earlier it is good to take a break. Now our security on the PSN will be better as Sony says and if you have not read up about the new cross game chat and cross game video chat which Sony might introduce. It goes to prove that the PS3 is alot better than the xbox360. Even if you get hacked and money gets taken from your credit card, you can claim it back of the bank. This happened to someone I know.

It shows the strength of sony as a whole, whoever hacked in to it whether it was someone in connection to microsoft/xbox and it was deliberate sabotage to there main rivals which is what i hear. Regardless as to whether this is true sony as a whole should have the facilities and manpower to adress a problem like this and deal with it a lot sooner and in a more professional manner. Most people i know with ps3 in xbox are selling there ps3's and going xbox especially because of the rumors that your best selling point of free online is now going to be a charged service. Change passwords on other sites you use that use the same password on!!!! I mean come on!!!! And then there's...... I'm gonna buy an XBOX cos I cant play online..... Carry on, go pay to play!!!! Really!!! I love gaming online but come on folks its really not the bee all and end all... Don't you have other things to be getting on with, its only like taking a break for a holiday... Are you really telling me you're that desperate to be online you'd rather move over to XBox, tragic. PSN is free, this is the first hiccup and it really doesn't help when people are throwing temper tantrums just because they want what they cannot get right now... Anyone who goes to xbox are idiots. The 360 crashes quite often and you have to pay to play online. At least with the PS, playing online is free. If you are getting so pissed off because the network has been down for OINLY 2 weeks, then you play PS way too much and need a break. People who have a life outside of PS would not get so pissed off.
