Last month we wrote about the release and gameplay involved with Serious Sam 3: BFE. Now that gamers have had the chance to play it we are able to look at the latest comments given in a full roundup of reviews.

Examiner has given an extensive view of a game that has been thought of as a relative of Duke Nukem. Much like Dukem, the story was standard of other FPS games that involve aliens. Multiplayer was not tested due to a lack of multiplayer community. Blood color changing was a surprisingly nice touch and overall this game has great single-player carnage action but not one to fall in love with.

G4 was impressed with the huge environments and over the top action, the Survival mode was a great addition and lots of fun to play. However, the slow start and lack of directional markers was also mentioned. The simple one against all action is done well in regards to the Sam series and an overall score of 4 out of five impressed here.

Co-Optimus also found a few parts amusing but like G4, they felt the start is slow. The massive scale of the game was complemented. New melee attacks and weapons were welcomed including the fun that could be had when you play on Classic mode with fifteen other players. Online play had some lag issues and bugs, but on the whole Serious Sam 3 is a fun shooter and got a Co-op score of 4 out of 5 and an overall 3 out of 5

Joystiq felt there was a similarity to the classic Doom keeping users stimulated in relentless action against everything you come up against. The massive scale of the game including forms of attack were highlighted. Lag and bug issues were noted during co-op play although playing with sixteen players is fun with all items dropped for every player. With a few comical moments this was rated with an impressive 4 out of 5 stars

Game Podunk viewed this game as much like the previous titles with a laborious start. The multiplayer was not a big hit here as well as the single player yet the co-op mode was found to be enjoyable. Not much has been changed from the original version but this is a good game to pick up and play great traditional FPS gameplay. The overall verdict was 7.5 out of 10.

Are you a fan of the Serious Sam series? If you love the idea of endless carnage and a traditional first person shooter this is the ideal game for you.
