Questionable graphics in latest Heroes of Ruin trailer

Heroes of Ruin due out this spring is an adventure video game for the Nintendo 3DS and we are interested to see what the general opinion is including a hands-on impression and a trailer to wet your appetite.

As you try to find a cure for the ruler of Nexus afflicted by a curse, Heroes of Ruin is a Diablo-type role-playing game containing action and adventure which has a countless amount of weapons available. CVG feel that this has much in common with Borderlands and makes the most of the online connectivity and the StreetPass option that allows users to purchase and sell their items using an in-game Traders Network. After seeing the trailer one of the comments showed some contempt for the graphics saying “Them be some ugly ass graphics” and that square are known to be better in this area.

IGN has had the opportunity to see the new Alchitect class with hands-on experience at CES this week. The Alchitects are put into skill categories of Sorcerer, Warlock, and Engineer, which are ideal for longer distance attacks, and not for front line confrontation as the health is not as high as the Vindicators. Each skill tree has its own quality, and the Engineer was preferred with party-support options containing some fun skills.

The Warlock is based around offensive magic and the Sorcerer is more about enemy debuffs and damage-over-time effects. Another good skill is Terror Ward which is a crowd control spell making enemies retreat. More on the seamless drop-in/drop-out multiplayer was also mentioned which enables a tour around the Nexus for purchasing items and quests.

JustPushStart has also had a hands-on look and seemed to be impressed in the limited time spent playing this. After selecting the Warrior class it all started with a good voice over and after completing a quest an XP is awarded with the opportunity to level-up and extensive customization allows players to boost their skills according to the existing level. Sometime after the game is released there will be more content including items and quests.

Their views of the graphics differ from the earlier comment and they feel that visually Heroes of Ruin is amazing including the 3D effects, environments and characters. Dungeons are all quite similar, which was to be expected and the chance to play the multiplayer didn’t come about but apparently, it can be played through WiFi and locally with up to four players. Their overall rating at the moment is an excellent 10 out of 10.

Although this does not have a specific release date yet, a trailer below will let you in on what is to be expected. What do you think of the graphics?
