Some of the best modders are involved in Skyrim and Bethesda know this, which is why they are excited to release the Skyrim creation kit that is in final testing as we write this article. Bethesda feels that mods are one of the best features you’ll find in Skyrim, and can lead to cool user-generated DLC.
Following on from the Skyrim patch v1.4 notes a couple of days ago, which can be seen in this article, and reassurance that the creation kit is ready to drop any moment now, it means the way is clear for Bethesda to focus on Skyrim DLC. When the next update is released it should fix major issues PS3 owners have with a drop in frame rate causing a kind of lag, although this has affected each user differently.

Moving on to some official Skyrim DLC now the road is clear – with the latest patch also fixing issues affecting Xbox 360 and PC users, what should the developers focus be moving forward? There would always be the need for different bugs to get a fix, but we’d like to see a real push for official downloadable content to get a release by March.
Not all platforms get equal attention – While PC users benefit from mods and this can only increase with the creation kit about to launch, the same cannot be said for console owners. The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Skyrim need DLC, and seeing PC players enjoy mods doesn’t help matters. If you’ve put well over 300 hours into Skyrim you might feel as we do, which is a need for DLC in the next month or two.
The ideas for Skyrim DLC do not stop flowing and we know Bethesda are watching what the gamer is asking for, so it’s a good idea to keep sharing. This recent article looks at new content ideas that could involve “Akavir and its inhabitants“, and it’s their view that this could lead to something for Akaviri.
Some of the most popular items that make Skyrim wishlists include Dragon riding, new skills/perks/shouts, and additions to weapons, armor and combat styles. One of the more complicated wishes for Skyrim DLC, and most likely to come, focuses on an expanded story with more maps. We’ve heard a lot in this area that include ideas involving Morrowind, Hammerfell, Elsweyr and Black March.
When do you want Skyrim DLC to launch, and considering the creation kit and patch 1.4 are about to drop, should the developers now focus on official downloadable content?
