Those who want to know where and when the QuakeCon 2012 gaming convention is going to be are in luck. With the date and venue unveiled for this summer, we have more news on this annual event.
An article on GamingBlend writes about the return QuakeCon in 2012 and that Bethesda, id Software’s parent company has divulged the dates informing us that the QuakeCon 2012 will go on from August 2nd to the 5th at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas. Special rates are available to those attending including reserve special room rates by calling 1-800- Hiltons, as they are priced at about $154 per night after asking for the QuakeCon 2012 rate. Volunteers mostly staff this event and admittance to the convention is free.
Out of the last six years, The Hilton Anatole has hosted five QuakeCon events. This function was first held in 1996 and only had 100 attendees initially, yet as this convention has evolved over the years over 8500 attended in 2010. As id Software and other developers exhibit their new products announcements, entertainment and challenging tournaments are available as well as cash prizes. FPS game RAGE made a big appearance last year and this year one of the expectations could be Doom 4.
AttackOfTheFanboy talk about Bethesda’s plans to unveil new games at QuakeCon 2012. Other than QuakeCon returning to Dallas in August, no further details have been announced, although Bethesda will allow gamers the opportunity to get to experience some of their forthcoming games. There is also news that the titles to be displayed will be the new IP, Dishonored and Prey 2.
The Quakecon website has comments from plenty of excited fans that cannot wait, booking days off work and arranging travel plans. Others have replied about the impressive venue and that they have to put by some funds as last years QuakeCon 2011 successful event was anything to go by.
