203 minutes of MW3 DLC captured

The first MW3 DLC is now available for those with an Xbox 360 and a Premium Elite account. While some may argue it’s not worth the $49.99 annual cost, those who decided to pay are now laughing, as they get to enjoy new content while others wait. However, even if you have paid up those with a PS3 or PC will have to wait another month.

You have to love it when new content for a game like Call of Duty becomes available, as there seems to be a frenzy of gamers uploading their footage online. It’s hard not to question their motives at this stage; is this done for your viewing enjoyment or do they love the idea of showing those who have to wait what they are missing out on?

203 minutes of MW3 DLC captured

The first video (here) runs for 53 minutes and 35 seconds and the other video (see below) has a ruining time of 2 hours 30 minutes and 24 seconds, which consist of 203 minutes of footage being captured. These have not been uploaded to annoy MW3 fans, as they are live streams from the likes of 1Up and are meant to show you the new maps. Do you have the patience to watch over 3 hours of new Modern Warfare 3 map pack footage?

It seems those who have paid for Premium Elite are not getting such a good deal after all – well for those who sign in with multiple accounts anyway. An article here reports that the new DLC maps can only be accessed and played by one user only – so no sharing content with other profiles. It’s not known if this is an isolated issue, as the terms and conditions state such content will be available to all users. Have you had a problem accessing the new MW3 DLC on multiple accounts?

In other related Modern Warfare news the subject of the knife has come up again. For some gamers they believe the sharp weapon needs to change, as it has been the same on many Call of Duty games. It’s certainly strange how a knife is a one-hit kill and can often take several shots from a gun to take an enemy down. As this knife has been the same on many of the games from the franchise, the likelihood of it changing is very slim indeed.

Do you think it’s about time the knife was changed?

    Mr. Chubb,

I do not believe that it is going to be a month for the maps to drop for PS3 (not sure about PC).  When Bowling was at the Machinima Respawn Map drop stream he said that it was not going to be a month (if memory serves).  He said that there were a few issues [with coding] programmers had to work with regarding the PS3 but that it would not hinder the drop occuring inside of the 30 day mark.  He mentioned the contract with Microsoft but was sure to mention that PS3 Elite users were not going to be “penalized” (my own words).  Just an FYI.

I really hope you’re right about that  BlackshirtOgre. There is no excuse for leaving out the PS3 players, especially those who purchased Elite. Nothing ‘Elite’ about waiting 30 days extra for some new maps
