Most people know that you cannot count on anything in the gaming world until it’s actually here, and this includes release dates given by those behind the games, which get changed occasionally. The Skyrim Creation Kit release date was widely accepted to be some time in January, although this launch window is almost certainly not going to happen now with Skyrim patch 1.4 being giving precedence.
We looked at both the Creation Kit and ideas for fan-developed quests earlier this week, and this saw some debate from our readers – can be read via this article – around the very reasons behind Bethesda’s Creation Kit in the first place. Some gamers feel that Bethesda is giving them tools to finish developing the game, and other players feel this is the whole point of Skyrim, which is to give developers a chance to take the world to another level in their image.

Let us know your thoughts on the reasons behind the Creation Kit, and of course we need to remember the CK doesn’t benefit PS3 and Xbox 360 owners directly at this time.
Finally we know the Skyrim Creation Kit is not coming this month – Bethesda has tweeted fans assuring the CK is coming very soon, and this left some people wondering how close to the end of January it would be? In the last few days it has been confirmed that the kit would not release this month, which came when a Bethesda administrator stated the Skyrim 1.4 patch would go “live next week“, and the “Creation Kit won’t be far behind“. You can read this message in this forum post.
On a positive note it looks like the launch should be just a few days behind schedule, so you can almost certainly expect a Creation Kit release in February. Full Skyrim 1.4 patch notes can be read here and additional changes in the 1.4.20 PC beta can be seen in another forum post.
Do you plan to use the Skyrim Creation Kit, or can you only think about the 1.4 update?
