Localization issues for Twisted Metal forces delay

Issues concerning the release of Twisted Metal means there will be setbacks for this highly anticipated game. We are interested to find out what the problem is and how much longer we will have to wait.

A delay in Europe is not the only issue highlighted on MP1st as they spoke about the release date only last month. Scheduled for a release in the US for February the 15th and two days later in Europe it looks like this has now been altered. Apparently, some of the developers including David Jaffe have suggested that it be delayed until March 1st mainly to do with localization problems. Through no fault of their own the EU version will have cuts made a there is some graphical content that will not be allowed.

Localization issues for Twisted Metal forces delay

In a post yesterday by Just Push Start, Sony mentioned news of the Twisted Metal multiplayer beta coming later that day on the PSN on its official PlayStation Blog. Information on what is to be expected covers a choice of eight vehicles containing their own style of weapons, a challenge mode giving users the option to try out the vehicles and two multiplayer modes. The multiplayer consists of a team-based Nuke mode, which involves a new type of capture the flag and the other mode is a classic free-for-all Death Match. This beta will run until February 7th.

An interview on Examiner has David Jaffe speaking about Twisted Metal and that now is a good time to rekindle the series. Fans that have tried out the demo seem to be pleased with the outcome and those that haven’t are promoted to do so. Because they keep adding bits on, this game has been in development for nearly three years. The basic style of the game remains although the main concentration has gone into the multiplayer side for the hardcore fans to experience. More depth has been added, as Twisted Metal was initially a PSN download, then they thought it would be ideal to release a game after listening to feedback from Sony and the gamers.

The time spent making additions to the multiplayer has fulfilled the game and made it worthwhile and Sony being so supported helped make this happen. He also talks about the influence that discussions on Call of Duty had on making this title evolve as well as many other games. Making this fast paced, tactical and full of action was our core focus and internal discussions helped create something that makes this game a little bit unique. The influence of other games helps when it comes to making worthy additions, although they did not want to have anything that you unlocked in online games as this can sometimes confuse new gamers.

Does the idea of further delay make you wonder if there is going to be much taken out? Have you been looking forward to Twisted Metal coming out this month?

If they release and its not ready I won’t be wasting my money.  Tired of companies releasing half assed products for the full price.
