We may not have seen a Project Gotham Racing game for a while now and the next installment looks to be set for the new console. The impression is that the Xbox 720 is to get Project Gotham Racing 5 means those who are still playing PGR 4 will have to stick with it for the time being.
Apparently OXM is reporting in its March edition that Project Gotham Racing 5 will be a launch game for the new Microsoft Xbox. In an article on Loud Mouthed Gamers, they are amazed at this rumor becasue since the Forza Motorsport titles have done so well you would think Project Gotham Racing 5 would be an ideal reprisal. As developers, Bizarre Creations are in decline the general thought would be that Microsoft would look to new developers for the next title.
The probability of the fifth Project Gotham Racing game is questioned on Fudzilla as it may come out but it does not look like it will be on the Xbox 360. They are under the impression that work is on the cards for the new title and that this will be unveiled in June. To add to this some sources have suggested that Turn 10 from the Forza series could be taking control of Project Gotham Racing 5. A release coinciding with the launch of the new console would not be a wild guess, as the PGR 3 was one of a few games that were involved with the 360 launch.
Although many websites are not reading too much into this there are views that PGR 5 may be out on the Xbox 360 and it’s due to compete with a rumored Grid 2. This rumor was also hit upon in a post on VirtualRnet, as some of the new titles to look forward to this year are mentioned along with these two making a return. Looking through MCV magazine Alan Boiston of VVV Gamer points out some news that backs up the speculation. Comments regarding this rumor show excitement that Turn 10 could be involved. Some enjoyed PGR3 with the 360 launch and would expect a launch title to go that extra mile (quite literally).
