Foreseen Skyrim High Res Texture Pack arrives
It was already known to us that the Skyrim Creation Kit was coming today but we were unsure of two things, when it would be available for download and what the surprise promised to us would be. Both these questions have been answered, as the CK is now live and the extra something was the foreseen “High Res Texture Pack”.
Now that the Creation Kit is here PC Skyrim users will be able to install custom content via Steam and the Skyrim Workshop. We already know so much about the CK but the icing on the cake is being able to see The Elder Scrolls V as you’ve never seen it before, thanks to the High-Resolution Texture Pack.
While it’s tempting to just go ahead and download this little gem from Steam you should check the system requirements just to see if your PC is up to the job. The specs are as follows: Windows 7 or Vista, AMD or NVIDIA graphics card with 1GB of RAM, DirectX 9.0c compatible and 4GB of RAM; you are advised by Bethesda to make certain your system exceeds these specs for best results.
The popularity of this CK and High Res Texture Pack seems to be having some sort of effect on the stability of the download, as some gamers are experiencing a few issues. However, these are just teething problems and seem to have gone away now but we would like to know if you have had any issues with the download or installation?
The size of the Texture Pack is a 3GB download and when you consider the game itself is around 6GB, it shows just how much Bethesda has packed into this new content. Taking this into consideration this pack has to be a vast improvement on the game, which we have to say was already a masterpiece in some gamers opinions.
Knowing that you will need a system to meet the requirements for the res pack you will need to make certain that you have a good quality screen, this way you will be able to get the most enjoyment along with a much sharper image. Have you noticed a vast improvement now you have the High Res Pack installed?
