Weather affects gameplay in Assassin’s Creed 3

It sounds like the gameplay in Assassin’s Creed 3 will have you bracing the elements of differing weather as the seasons change to add a new experience to the world of Assassin’s Creed, as this may not seem like a new feature in gaming it is a great way to involve realistic aspects to the upcoming installment.

The changes from extremely hot summers to snowy winters will have a vast impact on the gameplay and Strategy Informer report on scenarios where ice will block and reveal new paths to explore along with restricted movements through boggy areas and the chance to whip through the trees in the forests. UbiSoft’s latest reveal adds to the evolution of the game and with that news of accurately portrayed historical figures such as George Washington and Benjamin Franklin will also play a big part, especially Washington who communicates regularly with Connor throughout.

Set in 1770’s Colonial America Assassin’s Creed 3 will uncover some major events of the 18th century including the Boston Massacre, the Battle of Bunker Hill, the Boston Tea Party and more including the aftermath of the Great Fire of 1776 showing the damage caused to New York. Other scenarios will involve looking into Connor’s past as a young boy in a Mohican village before white colonists slaughter the local people. Assassin’s Creed 3 is scheduled to be released on the 30th October for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC and more information by Assassin’s Creed writer is divulged in an article on Beef Jack.

He talks about giving the character Desmond Miles the conclusion he deserves because there is a place for him among the major characters in the Assassin’s Creed universe, and although there is a story within a story in previous games, it doesn’t look like he will be leaving us soon. Ubisoft writer Corey May expresses that the franchise is bigger than just Desmond and that they do owe it to the fans to come up with newer aspects to the game although it would be nice to conclude what has been started as far as Desmond is concerned.

In a recent article we spoke about Assassin’s Creed 3 not waiting for the next generation consoles although the graphics will seem like they are next-gen, this will be due to the new game engine, known as ‘AnvilNext’ and will be able to produce huge battles containing armies. It seems like Assassin’s Creed 3 will have plenty to offer without any concern on the arrival of next-gen console. What do you think of the new features and effects mentioned here?
