Confusion over SWTOR subscriptions
Star Wars: The Old Republic subscriptions figures are actually on the up contrary to belief, and in a recent statement by the production director Dallas Dickinson, he has informed us that although there are no specific numbers to reveal he does expect some kind of announcement referring to this soon.
With this in mind, there would be no reason that EA would announce a statement that could be harmful to SWTOR or their company, and information on this is reported on Game Zone where BioWare has recently announced a free weekend trial for their new MMORPG. At the time of the release Star Wars: The Old Republic had reached a record-breaking 1 million players within three days and EA reported 1.7 million subscribers at the beginning of last month, which as Mr. Dickinson says “it shows the game is retaining well.”
With continuous updates gaining more attention, BioWare is lining up the release of an extensive 1.2 update and this will include a streamlined Space Port process, a new Warzone, Novare Coast, an Operation Explosive Conflict, a new Flashpoint (Lost Island), and the eagerly awaited Legacy System, which is expected to come out next month. In an article on Platform Nation, they also talk about the 1.2 Legacy System and the presentation by Dallas Dickinson on this patch going live in April.
Along with their presentation at SXSW 2012 they also spoke about responses and comments to how the game has done as well as expectations in the future, this summit had over 130 thousand online viewers and this online stream should be accessible on the official SWTOR site over the next few days. No other exclusive announcements were made yesterday, although there were some interesting discussions on future content involved in the 1.2 patch and customization. At the end of the year, we wrote a post on the companion customization along with some great videos of the characters for you to visualize including details on what to expect.
