Pre-order disappointment for Assassin’s Creed 3
Mixed opinions about the details concerning the pre-order of Assassin’s Creed 3 have amounted to some being disappointed in regards to only different skins and weapons being included, although there are others that seem to be content with this decision. With still over six months to go before the next installment is accessible there will be plenty of opportunity for fans to order their copy in advance, and up until present time the pre-orders figures are exceeding those of previous titles.
We have reason to believe that this edition will eventually become Ubisoft’s best selling game of all time, and Tony Key who is the senior vice president of sales and marketing at Ubisoft lets us in on this information, which is reported in an article on Best Games Network along with an informative statement. Talking about the success of the Assassin’s Creed series he spoke about the October 30th release and those fans eagerly awaiting this next installment will experience the biggest game launch in the developer’s history, as this title will be the largest marketing commitment expecting it to be the highest-selling Assassin’s Creed ever.
The bonuses in pre-order copies involve a Redcoat multiplayer package, which includes a redcoat skin, a snake emblem, and a “doctor doll” relic exclusive from Gamestop, and Amazon offer a single-player package including the “captain” assassin uniform and a handaxe used for boarding ships or a “traditional” colonial assassin’s uniform and brass-handled flintlock pistol. These offers have been posted on Amazon and GameStop in Germany although North American retailers have not released any information on their reserved bonuses, even though there is news of a free limited edition steel book case with all pre-orders.
Some gamers are not overly impressed with this offer and there is a feeling that those who wait a bit longer than the actual release date will be able to get the game cheaper, with bonus offers that will probably be available at next to nothing via DLC. As time goes on we may obtain more information on the reserved copy bonuses that may differ in the U.S. The pre-order incentives are not what many gamers regard as plenty of content there is an opinion that this stuff should be in the game already.
In other Assassin’s Creed news, Nerd Reactor talk about AC having a Kinect version giving the opportunity to act out moves like shimmying, the leap of faith, running, hiding and making those vital kills giving users the chance to feel like master assassin Ezio. To see this in action a video trailer below shows some great scenes of people acting out some of the familiar moves used in Assassin’s Creed and there are some amusing situations, although it does look like plenty of room will be needed. What do you think about the introduction of Kinect to Assassin’s Creed?
Last week we looked at a collection of Assassin’s Creed 3 demo previews to get a roundup of what is to be expected and some good impressions have given us even more reason to be excited about this title. What do you think about the bonuses offered in the pre-order copies?
