Obscure PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale characters

Upcoming crossover fighting game PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is set to have an extensive amount of characters and some of these could be a surprising addition to what may be expected. With SuperBot Entertainment showing many images on their site, some hidden clues have been investigated giving us reason to believe that some obscure characters have been considered.

Looking through the photos on the SuperBot Entertainment’s website most of the screens and logos are blurred making it hard to pick out details, although PlayStation Lifestyle has found one that they feel gives us a bit of insight. A photo of what looks to be an ordinary development studio has an image in the bottom left hand corner and once they turned it around and enlarged it, you can see PaRappa the Rapper, and they even show a picture of the character comparing the two.

In the top right hand site you can see Japanese mascot, Toro is visible along with a fightstick covered by paper, which will impress core fighting game players. A Nintendo Wii is also pictured in the background, which could amount to the developers trying out Super Smash Bros for reference. We are still unsure about the inclusion of the characters and even though SuperBot were considering including PaRappa and Toro this isn’t hard evidence that they will be involved in the final cut. However, the involvement of obscure characters from the PlayStation universe could make this a very interesting game.

They finally point out the PaRappa image is on the top of a rather large pile of cards, hopefully this is due to an extensive roster. Duel Shock Nexus report on this as they dig around for more news on what could be another PlayStation 3 exclusive reveal and documenting recent tweets from both Geoff Keighley and SuperBot Entertainment it seems that this week’s announcement is about SuperBot’s secret title. Only last week they came across a recent trademark filed by Sony Computer Entertainment with the title Cold Hard Cash and feel this could be another PS3 exclusive.

There is also a chance this could be for the PlayStation Vita considering not much has been revealed for the Vita of late other than Soul Sacrifice. To be fair there are some decent spots in the image and the developers having a Wii console shows that they do their research, although having a mascot on your desk may not amount to it being actually involved yet some may feel that Toro will be in the game to boost Japanese sales. We are interested whether Jak and Daxter with Ratchet and Clank will work together as one unit, or whether characters not owned by Nintendo will be considered.

From many articles it looks like Kratos, Nathan Drake, Sackboy, Sweet Tooth, Fat Princess, Sly Cooper, Jak and Daxter, Cole from InFamous and a character from Killzone may also be involved along with a female character that could be Lara Croft. Out of the many challenging scenarios that fans would love to see we are sure there are many other diverse characters that could make the grade. What characters would you like to see in the game?
