Wii U launch games teased but still rumors
Although we don’t have an exact release date for the Wii U that has not stopped the constant rumors that surround the upcoming console from Nintendo, we have already been given a few ideas in regards to the hardware that will power this new device but what about the launch games, as these could help determine its success?
Nintendo needs to get these launch titles right if they have any hope of having a great holiday season, and looking at a recently leaked list we are in for a real treat. All of the games can be seen here in a few screenshots, but some of those games that stand out to us are as follows: Assassin’s Creed III, Ninja Gaiden 3, New Super Mario Bros. and Splinter Cell 5.
There are 25 titles in all but if we are correct that the Nintendo Wii U will be released just before the holiday season, then there’s no reason why Black Ops 2 will not be on the launch list. When looking over the list we would advise that you treat these teased games with what they are, just rumors.
There’s also the rumor that the Wii U could come with a selection of different colors, and while we know this is not the most important factor when it comes to choosing a new console, it’s certainly great to have more choice. We should know more next month when Nintendo is expected to release yet more details regarding the Wii U during E3 2012.
Once we get to learn the real Wii U launch titles you can then take advantage of being able to purchase some of them either from retail and online stores or online via the console itself. The reason why we say just some of them is because according to Satoru Iwata, it’s not certain if you will be able to do the same with third party titles. What confuses us the most is how the prices will be the same for the retail versions and online via the Wii U, we would have assumed that the digital version would have been a little cheaper.
What launch titles would you like to see and should the digital only versions come with a cheaper price tag?
