Samsung Galaxy S3 vs iPhone 5 for gaming screen size
There are many features that you and I look at when choosing the perfect phone for gaming and while most of us wish to know what kind of CPU/GPU the device has, the first thing that we get to see is the size of the screen. One of the most popular phones is the iPhone 4S, but there is an issue for some when it comes to the size of its screen because it’s on the small side for getting the most out of the gaming aspect. However, the Galaxy S3 is much different and gives consumers what they want, but will Apple finally give us what we want, and that’s a larger screen?
There has been a huge debate for some time now over the screen size of the iPhone – Some say that the 3.5-inch screen is still ideal and that any larger would not be worth it. However, if you talk to anyone who plays a lot of gaming then a larger screen size is important, and we would have to agree – although anything larger than 5 inches would be an overkill.
When you see the new Galaxy S III from Samsung put next to the iPhone 4S it looks almost comedy because the size difference is astounding, the reason for this is because the former has a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED screen. This would have to be the maximum screen size I would be willing to have stuffed in my pocket all day and it makes you wonder if Apple has considered this – unlike the range of Android phone makers?
I’m not against Android, but I do feel that practicality often goes out the window when their new smartphones are in the design stages – the massive Galaxy Note a fine example. Having said that in terms of gaming it must be awesome to play apps on that device, but it does give other people the impression you have small hands – okay maybe not?
It’s not known what screen size Apple will go with and there is a fear that they will not change a thing again. However, if I were a betting man I would say that they would make the screen larger but nothing over 4 inches. Having listened to many friends they believe that Samsung has found the sweet spot with the size of the S3 because it fits nicely between some other Android handsets on the market, and also the fact that it offers an immersive gaming experience.

I do not want my technology being governed by trend over function. Sure when the iphone came out it was very practical in comparison to anything else. Now with CPU speeds getting better the designs need to change to incorporate that function. I wouldnt care if someone thinks my hands "look big", Im ripping it up on GTA ffs!
4.0 to 4.3 inches. this is not strictly in reference to gaming this is overall. I will not be buying a high end smartphone that is over 4.3 inches. Or one with a capacity below 64gb. I could say that I was ok with Apple's walled garden or Smasung's junk-crushing phones but both are getting on my nerves. Make a 4.0 inch high quality SM or I'm going WP7.

I'm not a gamer, but I will say that my iPhone 4 is to small and heavy after almost 2 years of having it. Apple needs to do something about getting a better design, because I think the Galaxy s2 and s3 are more stylist and better designed. Plastic is more durable than glass and I've seen to many iPhones shatter. My next phone will be the s3.
I'm old enough to remember the first PDA's, I had an iPAQ by HP and put my life in a small box for the first time over a decade ago. Mobile phones were still large then and I was amazed that no one had thought of combining the two - it was obvious wasn't it? HP did make a not very good attempt at this, but smaller and better mobile phones were on the way in by then and it died a quick death. Since then I've often found small phones to be annoying, they just don't offer the work space, software and ease of use that PDA's did. I've been pining for a decent one machine that does it all for years - now I have it, yes, the Galaxy Note. Now I'm a five foot female with small (arthritic) hands and I don't have any problems with the size of it, I love it! Just today I've used it for navigation, downloading and reading recipes, watching instructional videos, reading my email and messages, geocaching and games; in a short while I shall use it for my bedtime reading (my e-reader has been given away). Come on guys, what are you wimping about? Does it look cool to be struggling with a laptop and a mobile at the same time, and screwing up your eyes to read a tiny screen? Al in Quantum Leap showed us the future all those yeas ago, Ziggy could do it all and knew it all. Welcome to the future?
Speaking of which the Ipad2 S opps I mean Ipad 3 isn't that impressive with only marginal improvement. I will be keeping my Ipad 2 thanks.
Well if Iphone 5 screen size is smaller than the S3 than I will buy an S3 instead. My Iphone 4 looks out of date compare to my friend's S3. I have to strain my eyes looking at the e books even with the retina display. Apple better improve with Steve gone or I will go to android or windows.

yes the ip5 i hope get a bit bigger screen but to be honest i dont want it as big as the sg3 as i sold my sg2 due to it being simply to big to fit in my jeans when im out and about my ip4s much more pocketable, so im expect 3.8-4" . apple can add a few mm in sze but thats it any bigger and i will just keep my ip4s, as it dock with lots of devices i used it as car nav,music,net,calls,pics. SG3 was a dissapointment for me doesnt dock well with anything, rubbish cam and its to big only thing it has is soled,and quad and as for gaming on ip4s and sg3 there touch screen and these suck for gaming you need control pads or a pad dock the phones slip into
You are obviously an idiot, first of all, if crapple increases the screen size of the iPhone 5; there goes all the docks, I homes and all other cheap products made by dumb, small third party companys that want money from retarded fanboys like you. Ie: iwave. And do you know why? Because then the bezel of the phone has to increase. Also if crapple ditches their 30 pin universal connector then there goes all the rest of your accessories. One more thing, the gs3's camera is rubbish, it has twice the features and speed of the iPhones current camera, so think before you speak.
