Max Payne 3 trumps Diablo 3 and FIFA Street in UK

The newly released Max Payne 3 is looking in good shape as statistics show that it has rapidly climbed up the UK All Format Gaming Chart trumping Diablo 3 and FIFA Street. Some may say that games like Diablo 3 may only be limited to a PC/Mac format and this will affect there rise when it comes to titles that have been released across platforms, but this still shows how well Max Payne 3 has done since its release.

As a football fan, it is easy to see how FIFA Street has been beaten and those who love soccer will tend to prefer games like FIFA 12 and Pro Evolution, although since last Fridays release of Max Payne 3 the solid opening day sales helped this game climb the chart for the week ending May 19th. The success of Diablo 3 also showed great sales at second place with just 8,000 sales behind Rockstar’s latest installment.

In a report by T3, EA’s FIFA Street also moved ahead of Sniper Elite V2 and FIFA 12 in sports four and five respectively, although they feel this is something to do with the end of the Premiership Season, the Champions League Final and the upcoming Euro 2012 tournament. Activision has had a decent run with sixth and seventh spots being claimed by Prototype 2 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 ahead of EA’s Battlefield 3, which is in eighth position.

At number nine you will find Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed Revelation and Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games is holding a sturdy tenth place position. Do you feel that the upcoming sporting events will have an affect on UK gamers with titles like Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games and FIFA Street? Across all platforms, what title do you think deserves the top spot for you this week?
