June PSN Maintenance: Time and date

Tomorrow Wednesday 20th June a PSN maintenance is scheduled from 16:00 to 20:30BST and we are concerned that this is peak time for Europe once again. Details of this inform us that for the duration of this work being carried out some users will be unable to log into the PlayStation Network, Account Management and the PS Store, the PS Home will also be unavailable.

There may also be some added downtime after the maintenance period for testing purposes, and although an apology is written for the inconvenience the official PlayStation website are letting us know that this will be apparent between the stated times. Back in March we posted an article looking at whether this action could be taken at different times of the day as the one we documented then was scheduled to last for around 14 hours.

Back then, the timing was awful as it was a Sunday and weekend days are bound to be a more productive time for gamers to make more use of this service. Back then we explained the fact that PlayStation Network is down for maintenance with long red status and asked whether this is the probably the worst time to make these changes.

Those who have some single player games that need playing will have to make do during this period and although a Wednesday is a better day to do this you may feel that the time of the day is not so good. Do you have a particular game or platform in mind while the PSN maintenance is in action? What do you think about the time and date?
