Google Nexus 7 tablet gaming potential
There’s no getting away from the fact that Apple are not having it all their own way in the tablet market as they once did a couple of years back, but rival devices are starting to put up a fight and try to offer consumers a better alternative – although they’re not there just yet. Apple knows that if they need to keep on top of the market they will need to do much more than just use patents to get rid of the competition, as they have just done with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 in the US.
The main rival in the tablet market is Samsung, so this latest news will come as a huge blow, but the likes of Microsoft and Google are also going to give Apple a fight as well. We recently informed you that Microsoft will be releasing the Surface tablet and now we have the Google Nexus 7 tablet, but will need to appeal to the consumer and more importantly gamers.
Both have a great gaming potential but we would have to say that the Nexus 7 has the Surface beat when it comes to games. From what we know Microsoft’s device will be the more powerful of the two, but Google’s will have the added benefit of Google Play and all those gaming apps that are available.
The Google Nexus 7 will be no slouch either, as it will not only come with an Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor but will also use Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. However it is the gryoscope and accelerometer that will help the new tablet from Google become a serious gaming device, which can be seen in action in the video below.
The other important factor that could appeal to the gamer is the price of the Google Nexus 7, as it will be just $199 for the 8GB version and $249 for the 16GB.
Do you feel that Google are on to a winner with the Nexus 7 tablet?
