GTA 5 taking constraints into account
Having already been told that Grand Theft Auto V will be the biggest title from the franchise to date (even bigger than Red Dead Redemption as well) this kind of got us wondering about what kind of constraints will have to be taken into account with the PS3 and the Xbox 360 – well if it is a current-gen console that is? We only say this because there have been rumors to suggest that after those recent screenshots GTA 5 could be a next-gen title – but we along with most fans think this is not the case.
There’s no reason not to believe that GTA V will be the biggest so far from the franchise, especially when you consider that there will be flying planes within the game. From what has been suggested so far Grand Theft Auto V is looking to be the best game from Rockstar yet, but it’s obvious that they will have to take certain factors into consideration, which could have an overall effect on the game.
Constraints have to be taken into consideration because we have had a few comments from previous articles that suggest the lack of Blu-ray on the Xbox 360 could hold GTA 5 back, but would you agree with this? There have been a number of larger world games on the 360 and the lack of Blu-ray did not have an effect on the outcome, Just Cause 2 being a fine example.
Let’s say that this is true then you would presume that the PS3 is the ideal console for such a large game, but you would be wrong. Developers also have to take into consideration that the PlayStation 3 is lacking in the RAM department. While this has been an issue for years and developers have managed to get around the problem, we have to face facts that it still must cause a few issues in the development process and allowances have to be made.
We found an interesting comment from a previous article that said that the PC should be the lead platform for GTA 5 and that both the PS3 and the Xbox 360 should just play to their strengths, much like we are seeing with Battlefield 3, but would you agree with this?
A couple of days ago we asked if the next game from the Grand Theft Auto series would have changeable weather, and while we know this was already a feature in previous versions, we feel that there is so much more potential because Rockstar now has the ability to take further advantage of such a feature, just as Ubisoft are doing with Assassin’s Creed 3.

The good news is that even if they introduce a gimped console port to the PC, modders will work with it and make it proper - updating graphics, extending script effects etc.

Ok, they did Skrims large open world on console and two world and just Just Cause 1 and 2 and and look at test drive 1 and 2 there well capable of running it on ps3 and 360 So,what's the big whoop.

I'm pretty sure that we'll get in on teh PS3 and 360, there is still alot that can be done with them! Also, I imagine that we should be getting some more news on it soon, theres too much hype for them not to tell us anything... otherwise people start losing interest.
If any console is holding back GTA V, it'll be both equally. What they can make on PS3, they can make on Xbox and vice-versa. Judging by the screens, I can understand initial thought is that it'll be next gen; But I'm thinking that they may have made some new technology to reduce the amount of strain caused such a massive draw distance.
GTA is a console game at heart and Rockstar have delivered flawlessly on countless occasions. The PC market on Grand Theft Auto is much smaller and most sales on the format have been in bargain buckets whereas the console community purchase their titles on day 1 full price. Regardless of the power required; Rockstar will once again execute a solid title as they know technically how to build, produce and publish a title within their means of limitation. Unlike CoD where it's flaw after flaw, bug after bug and patch after patch. Rockstar work within realistic timescales and tech boundaries.

R* won't use PC as the main hardware, have you seen the PC sales for GTA 4? The $$$ is coming from the consoles and that won't change for a while. And can everyone stop talking about next gen, if theres no news about it, it won't come out anytime soon, I'm sure after R* gets piles of money when GTA V sells, they're gonna have one team work on DLC and another will probably start work on 6 for next gen, they'll have to take another big step up and really get creative with that one, if I was a betting man, I'd say Vice city is next, I've seen too many fans talk about VC being the best game, and in terms of story and characters, I'd have to agree, and also, I'm sure after we get familiar with 5 when it's out, we'll become spoiled with all it's goodness and start looking for thing to add or upgrade.
Actually, more people say that San Andreas is the best game; we just know that SA won't be the place involved in the next game.

I just got told my a Rockstar employee asking for change on the street, that Rockstar plan to release when the stars and the moon meet. Upon that day you will see Rockstar release. It came directly from him, OMG, we finally have a release date !!!
I was going to think 5 billion years from now, but that's only one star, and considering after meeting that star, the moon will be no more, the release date will be never, yes? :)

i have played every GTA title out there i am lookin forward to GTA 5 i have a 360 and if it only comes out on PS3 that will be a little upsetting because alot of people have one system and they cant always get money to get another consule just for a game that is why they should just make it a multiple disk if they have to the game L.A. loire or something like that is a 4 disk and it works perfectly fine for the xbox. i would love to see weather like earthquakes and storms cause LA has those. i like snow maybe up in the mountain areas where u drive for a while until u get to the snow and then there could be snowmobiles on the trail for the rest of the way up. and if u could do more like blinkers open hood and trunk for storage or if ur car breaks down u can get out and fix it under the hood and light switchs and stuff of that nature would b awsome.

Hey this is Dan from RockstarGames. We are having current platforming troubles along with the release of this next series in the franchise. To tell you the truth the trailer should not have been released until this november. Screenshots are coming but a new trailer will be released during the holidays.

Well assuming it goes to eb expo it could only really have it on ps3 and xbox unless they will have next gen consoles there which i doubt, plus im sure most gta fans wont care about a little bit of lagg because we'll just be happy with the game, they can always re-release later on next gen consoles
