Skyrim 1.7 update availability for PS3 and Xbox 360
Those of you expecting the 1.7 update for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on the PS3 and Xbox 360 will be pleased to know that Bethesda has informed gamers on their official blog that “the current plan is to submit the update to console manufacturers this week”. They also said that as soon as it is available, they would let you know.
The latest update for Skyrim has been released for PC gamers via Steam is accessible now and the console’s 1.7 patch is expected sometime within the next couple of weeks, providing everything runs smoothly. In an article on EL33TONLINE, they mention this in regards to whether the update is submitted to Microsoft and Sony this week for approval. To keep their readers occupied they also list the fixes and additions that come standard with the latest update 1.7 on all platforms unless specified.
Referring to this update, last week we spoke about the beta 1.7 patch and that those playing Skyrim on the PlayStation 3 will be able to skip update 1.6 and will move directly to patch 1.7, as all the new bug fixes will be there along with all the updates that came with 1.6. Varied responses have come from this news and some skeptical gamers are questioning whether this title will be playable by the end of the year. Although there is a feeling that Bethesda probably found so many problems in the PlayStation 3 version that instead of giving gamers half a patch, they would rather take the time to fit it all into a big update.
Only yesterday we wrote about the imminent arrival of Skyrim Dawnguard for the PS3 with the first two add-on content drops, and the 30 day period that graced the Xbox is over so many are expecting this now. We also looked at some twitter statements by Bethesda’s Vice President of PR and Marketing, Pete Hines, informing gamers to sit tight, which is not being received too well and many are questioning the lack of clarity Bethesda is giving us, as an apologetic response from Bethesda would go some way to make up for the delay. Are you hoping that this patch will iron out all those bugs? Is the waiting game starting to irritate you?

" Although there is a feeling that Bethesda probably found so many problems in the PlayStation 3 version that instead of giving gamers half a patch, they would rather take the time to fit it all into a big update" I hope that's the case. I'm a PC gamer, but I actually think that PS3 users deserve to get the DLC before us; they don't deserve yet another long wait. Besides, why should we (PC) be complaining when we have all these mods to play with?
wow, very nice of you to say. there should be more people like you in the world mate. as a ps3 owner and with a massive friends list, i have to admit that bethesda has already shot themselves in the foot. they will lose an enormous amount of sales and customers due to their neglect and lack of information. they may have got a special contract with microsoft (suX-box 360) but they will lose more from ps3 owners that have given up on them. peace
You do realise that you've told the person above that there should be more people like him in the world, then go on to abuse another platform, right?
I was referring to InDIGnation's lack of selfishness and empathy towards ps3 owners. UNLIKE bethesda!!! Not sure why i have to explain myself...abuse another platform??? lol if you think 1 simple word is abuse, maybe you should read some other forums or posts Darren.
Can't we just, y'know...get along? I do admit that Microsoft seems to be deliberately trying to drive a wedge between every platform and Bethesda probably wasn't wise to accept the contract. Publishers...
