Update on Dawnguard PS3 not forthcoming
Bethesda’s tight-lipped response to upcoming Dawnguard DLC is not sitting to well with fans, as it seems they are not giving anything away in terms of news about when it will arrive. Gamers have been expecting something from the company for a few weeks now, but Bethesda has not given any indication of this expansion.
When asked for an update via Twitter on the status of Dawnguard for the PlayStation 3, Bethesda PR and marketing boss Pete Hines did not give anything away and his reply was “I don’t have an answer or an update.” In an article on Now Gamer they mention that news of an update is not forthcoming, and although we can see that Bethesda are not ready to launch the DLC on PS3, there is an understanding that we would rather have it launch late and working properly, than with countless bugs.
With this in mind, we look at a post by The Leaf Chronicle, which describes the PC version as buggy but thrilling, even though the new patches and mods can significantly change your gameplay and graphics. As they go into detail about the introduction of a group of vampire hunters holed up in Skyrim, they also talk about the buggy elements of the game and by looking at forums, they found that these issues have been acknowledged. Their insight to playing as Dawnguard, informs gamers to hit “save” right before you enter the area where you rescue him. If you get the “bug,” your story will be ruined and you will have to start over.
Returning to the original topic our recent post on the wait for Dawnguard on the PS3 mentioned how this is a missed opportunity in regards to the summer holidays, and with just over a couple of weeks before the kids go back to school there is still no sign of this. To keep children amused over the summer break Dawnguard DLC would have been ideal if it was released weeks ago, but it now seems that many have given up on it or even decided to abandon it altogether. Do you feel that PS3 owners are being treated unfairly? Maybe Bethesda should find a way to compensate the fans disappointment.

I'm sorry but somebody somewhere within Bethesda must have some idea of what time scale they're working too. The fact they won't say anything says 1 of 2 things to me; 1. They genuinely have no idea when it will be finished. I.e. they're working on a wim and nobody should be getting their hopes up. 2. They just can't be bothered to keep fans posted, hiding the truth, thinking we love the suspense or something? If this DLC hits the PSN at full price, if ever, I'm simply going to laugh and turn my system off. Skyrim is a great game, but a game has to end at some point anyway, and I'm not paying full price for DLC which will nearly be replaced by Hearthfire a few weeks later. They're lucky they've already established a name in Fallout, I love that game and will HAVE to get the next, but otherwise I'd be boycotting Bethesda for all future titles. #rantover

im sure xbox laughing right at ps3 users overt his pack and pc and what do thses to have in common microsoft paying under the table to get it first and what ever else they payed for to making ps3 users life difficult well i hope one day ps3 game comes out that is the best or even vampire game dominates all then that wipe grin off there faces
when i heard this pack came out for xbox and pc i was so looking forward to this pack coming out on the ps3 and then when saved up to amount throught it would cost me i paitently waited for it for days but then it became weeks and after a month and so on i suspect something was wrong so looked up on it i was so suprise and shocked about 30 days contract had xbox completely greedy xbox but not only that but not one little word from them at all on its arrival even a date or even very last resort on year of its arrival but no i at this point just give up on it and at point where i will sell ithe game i already spent my savings on something else than the pack i had enough of been messed about...with it
Rumours of a new dlc arriving in September called hearthfire it's funny because we havnt even got the first one
yeah if that's true I expect that if they don't finish Dawnguard soon, they'll release it with this, second DLC
I think the only way to make it up and to bring back upset and angry fans is to make Dawnguard extremely cheap or maybe even free.
We ps3 users should demand that we recieve dawnguard for free. This is disgraceful with the over extensive wait for this DLC pack. I myself will not be paying for such an overpriced DLC with all the hassle that we had to put up with. If it is free maybe ill think about downloading it. But for all this waiting that we havenhad to do we deserve to be compensated...
I own skyrim on both Xbox and ps3, and I'm not buying the dlc at all until everyone has it.
PS3 players should have a 50% discount on this DLC because of having to wait months for this, and lemme tell you it better be worth it..

I wonder if all the ill-will they have generated with PS3 users was worth the extra MS money for timed exclusives. Bugthesda definitely as no love for PS3 console or the users.
I believe they should give us PS3 users a compensation. Because honestly I've been so stoked about this for so loooong and just continuously disappointed with zero news, information, or anything at all from Bethesda! I have gone away to camps and assortments expecting at least something when I got back but instead it is once again nothing. Really Bethesda? Come on!
i am on ps3 waiting for dawnguard so are most of my mates in the squad bethasda needs to pull there finger out and release this dlc asap at a discount of cource .
Honestly, if Bethesda would just tell us what the big issue is, I don't think people would complain. Considering their current track record with PS3, the "performance issues" must be something along the lines of as soon as you start the DLC every NPC gets flagged as essential and instantly turns hostile to you(as if you were stage 4 vamp prior to DG), or you load up the game after installing and instantly fall into a bottomless pit. *SPOILERS* My brother has DG on the 360, and it ran completely fine, aside from one glitch in the Soul Cairn, when Serana vanished(he killed one of the keepers before speaking to her mother and we didn't know about the glitch at the time). Fortunately, I pulled up the quest on either UESP or Elder Scrolls Wiki(don't remember which, but was constantly bouncing between both), and spotted the glitch under "bugs". His game was still complete-able, because he only killed one of the keepers before finding Serana's mother and speaking to her, but it still had us both concerned until the issue resolved itself upon his completing the quest and exiting the Soul Cairn.
New level cap for ps3 would be cool and good compensation.
The only data that can be found as a reason why this hasnt come out on PS3 yet is that the DLC cant handle the playstation 3's blue ray graphics. It isnt bugs, it's that they cant just copy over the data with switched controls. They have to re-write all of the coding. Everything I say can be confirmed to. Yes, they say it's bugs but if you look at the other comments from the developers, they state that it is a software problem.
Are you retarded???????? Skyrim on 360 and PS3 have the same graphics. Plus this is why I have an 360, less bugs, SAME GRAPHICS, and don't have to wait 1-2 months for DLC. I don't care if I have to pay $60 a year for live. Plus maybe your console should work better so there is no software problems. BTW, I love playing Dawnguard on my Xbox 360 with no bugs and same graphics.
uuuuum no. if you look at most ps3 games you will notice it says blue ray on the disk. skyrim is no exception.
Why the f*ck couldn't they fix the damn bugs before it came out altogether? It makes no sense. There is no doubt in my mind that microsoft slipped even more money than we realized under the table to Bethesda, telling them to keep away from ps3 fans as long as possible, without announcing anything longer than a 30 day exclusivity deal, so that Bethesda can say to ps3 owners that they're "fixing bugs". Microsoft gets exclusivity for a longer period of time, Bethesda gets more money, and they save face with ps3 owners. F*ck them. They're a bunch of greedy f*gs milking as much money as they can out of this.
If they had done that for exclusivity, PC would be in the same situation as PS3. As the article says, there's a game-breaking bug with the PC version that the PC community hasn't figured a work-around for yet. If PS3 has the same bug, I'd rather wait since PS3 doesn't have console commands(and the article doesn't specifically mention the NPC you're attempting to save, so you'd have to look that up), to avoid having my questline broken.
That game breaking bug was fixed using the Creation Kit :D

Holy crap it hasn't released yet! Just making sure but you do know its called 1.6 when downloading it right? Well thats what its called in the U.S....
The PS3 recognizes it as 1.6. It's likely that it'll launch next week, since patches for EU aren't too different from that of NA. This is, of course, assuming that they're smart enough to not try patching all the different languages at once with a single patch.

This is just ridiculous now. Surely if you are a games company you should make sure that the dlc is ready for every platform before your release it!? This has been a disaster and im really pissed of with bethesda right now. Even sent then an email asking whats with the holdup and i still havent got a reply even though i sent it over 2 weeks ago

in america, wasnt it 20 dollars for dawnguard on xbox... xbox is already more expenisive so its gonna be about 18 dollars/ 14 pounds

Im still not paying $20 whether its buggy or not. I would have if they were saying something along the lines of "hey, still working on it....thank you for your patience" but no they kept everyting quiet. Makes me think they aren't releasing it all. But many gamers are tired of skyrim anyway so its their own fault if they dont get the success they wanted. Should have worked on it during the exclusivity period and released after 30 days

i'm a elder scrolls fan, and i first started playing oblivion on xbox360 but after bad experiences with microsoft, and their drm policies and other bad practices, i switched to ps3 for great games, graphics, and blue ray, i like the ps3 system way better, and i'm still being hassed by microsoft, i think bathesda should realize that dealing with the devil is really hurting them in the long run, cuase for us ps3 fans to buy you better be giving a discount or a free copy of dlc!!!

Hasent Bethesda had about 51 days since the 360 version came out to fix all these bugs? how hard is it to fix 10-30 bugs?
