iPhone 5: Style over content
Although Apple has many fans, especially when it comes to iPhones there has been some skepticism over the iPhone 5′s limited functions and even though this does look like a stylish piece of kit there have been some suggestions that style only goes so far, and after a while, it is content they are looking for. Comparisons are now being made with the Samsung Galaxy S3 as this is the best that Android has to offer and as far as price goes there is not much between the two.
The iPhone 5’s look is said to be like an elongated version of the iPhone 4S and is a metallic bodied phone in a two-tone black finish which has a sealed compartment, whereas the Samsung Galaxy S3 comes with a removable battery turning it into two parts, and it is plastic no matter how solid it feels. In an article on Gaming Illustrated, they feel that the impression of both is subjective to personal opinion and this depends on what the individual wants from a phone.
While they sit on the fence it is worth stating that the S3 is significantly larger but this is due to the bigger screen, and although it is heavier than the iPhone 5 they are both very light and a similar thickness. Therefore, there is not that much between them until you look at the screen statistics and media such as games, films and internet. This is where the S3’s larger screen comes out on top. As far as processing power is concerned it is hard to make a judgment yet as Apple has not stated if the chip is dual or quad-core although the S3 uses the Exynos 4412 Quad-core chip, which has been tested as the most powerful processor on any mobile phone or tablet.
Generally there are concerns about how the new iPhone 5 will fair when Android devices are doing so well and the Samsung S3 is a power-house when it comes to mobile devices, so it looks like Apple are now challenging on a more level playing-field, which is a nice headache for consumers. In other iPhone 5 news, SF Gate report on record-breaking sales being announced on first-day orders as shares of Apple went over $700 in late trading after this statement, and this figure is more than double that set by the previous model.
Last week we spoke about the increased battery life and graphics performance of the iPhone 5 and this is expected to be much better than its predecessors, showing more improvements with even more broken records anticipated. When it comes to the gaming and media side of mobile devices the Samsung Galaxy S3 seems to have shaken up Apple’s world of dominance and we are intrigued to see what will be on offer next. why is s3 better??its not just about it does more and does faster.coming from smaller screen in to4.8" s3 screen i can tell you everyhing you do on s3 becomes more enjoyble. webbrowsig looks better and not tiring for your eyes. having a hd screen res on s3 is a bonus. i finished reading 6 books on s3, i allways have all my books in my pocket and whenever i get some time i read them! but there so many other nice functions like when you take a picture of you friends it recognise them and put their name .and if you want to send them the pictures its so mch easier.(it impresses everyone too) with s3 i got 50 gb cloud space free! and even my 32 gb emory ws full i just placed a micro sd card in and had more memory :) like you say gming on this thingis amazing, bu te best part is ica connect wirlessly to my tv and playthe games there and even conect ps3 controoler to my s3 to use when i play:) i used nfc so far for faster file transfer but have just got the app for payments and it will be great to get oystercard on it too. to be honest i dont need anything like i-pad with me the s3 does the job as a phone and other things i need on the go. it has faster cpu, and does all i-pad does and more. but maybe i get note 2 as it looks like a real beast.
It doesn't matter if the processor is dual core or quad core but only about the level of performance offered. People seem to be getting hung up and confused by this. Apparently the new apple A6 processor is dual core clocked at 1.2GHz. However, the A6 is using the new A15 cores which are 2x more powerful than the A9's used in the galaxy whilst offering 40% better power consumption. So basically a dual core A6 with the A15s are faster and more powerful than a Samsung galaxy sIII quad core with A9s. This is why their new chip is smaller, takes up less battery power and because it only has 2 cores which are energy efficient anyway it can make the phone smaller as well as the battery. It's pretty smart from apple.
wrong. i -phone dont hat have the a15. it has the dual core only. on benchmark it lost to s3. s3 did 1781. iphone 5 -1600 s3 has 2100 ma battery i-phone 1400ma

It is increasingly being suggested that a phone is good because it has a bigger screen because it can display games better. We forget however that the iPhone and the Samsung Galaxy are fundamentally phone devices. So as a phone, the iPhone is a million times better than the Samsung. But if one has to look at gaming capabilities, then perhaps the Galaxy should rather be compared to PS3 or the Xbox, because for me it is too big as a phone but OK as a gaming device. I am very pleased that Apple was not pressured to make the iPhone as big as the Galaxy or other big phones on the market; it should stay the size of a phone as it is. There are also films and the Internet. That is why the iPad is there. If you want to watch a film or make use of the Internet, then the iPad is far superior, and it is designed for those purposes and others. Therefore, the capabilities provided in the iPhone for games, emails and films are to make quick checks, but for heavy uses, you switch to the iPad or game devices.
