Diablo 3 1.05 patch live: Increases challenge and rewards
From this morning at 2am UK time, the Diablo 3 1.05 patch goes live and is expected to provide an increased challenge and rewards, and according to Blizzard the Monster Power must be enabled in the menu. Once this is done, there will be 10 levels of Monster Power you can apply, and each level allows the monsters to inflict more damage and maintain their health.
This will also increase the XP you receive from them along with a boost to both gold and magical find opportunities. The fact that this patch will make Diablo 3 harder yet more rewarding is reported on Eurogamer as well as details of the difficulties and what is involved with each. This is a great way of getting the basic information without having to run through the patch notes. In other Diablo news, an article on NintendoLife.com mentions how Blizzard was working to develop Diablo on the Game Boy Color, which we feel would have been a popular money making idea, that could have been a great addition to Nintendo’s handheld.
Regarded as Diablo Junior there were ideas to release this as multiple editions giving players the chance to swap exclusive characters much like that experienced with Pokémon. The development of this title started around the same time they were working on Diablo 2, and it seems a Game Boy Advance version was also expected according to Blizzard biographer David Craddock. At the moment, Craddock is busy on the unofficial history of Blizzard called Stay Awhile and Listen, and his insight comes from communicating with over 80 ex-employees.
Initially Blizzard intended to release three cartridges with a different hero in each along with items that players could trade and collect, although Diablo Junior was seen to be put aside because of steep production costs that come when developing handheld games. Those who would love to play Diablo on the move would probably feel that this should have happened and many gamers would love to see games like this on other new handhelds like the 3DS.
In relation to the Diablo 3 1.05 patch, last month we spoke about the repercussions with Monster Power and views from senior technical game designer Wyatt Cheng and game director Jay Wilson let us in on the aspects that would excite hardcore Diablo fans.
