New iPad Mini to overshadow other Apple releases

With Apple announcing another event a few days ago it’s expected that they will unveil the new iPad Mini and while this may be good news for some, there’s a fear that other Apple releases could be overshadowed. Along with the rumored smaller iPad we’re also expecting another few products to be unveiled as well, such as a new iMac, Mac Mini and also a MacBook pro.

Whenever Apple announce such an event we know that there are always hidden messages within their invites, and “We’ve got a little more to show you” is proof of just that. Now this could mean that they just want to show us a new smaller device, or they could unveil a handful of new products.

If we are to read into the invite then we expect to not only see the new iPad Mini but also a 13-inch Retina MacBook. However, what has interested us the most is how long it has been since the last iMac refresh, so one would assume that Apple would want to offer something new to their faithful followers.

So why will the iPad Mini overshadow these other devices? – While a refresh of these other devices would be welcomed, it’s the growth in the mobile sector that Apple and their rivals have concentrated more on. All the time Apple holds the upper-hand in terms of their tablet market share they need to offer alternatives in order to cover the basis.

Apple not only needs to offer a smaller iPad because of consumers needs for a more portable device – yes the current version is often too large for many consumers. However, the biggest challenge that Apple needs to overcome is the struggling economy and emerging markets, as some people just don’t have enough disposal income for the current iPad.

The likes of Google and Amazon have been making strides in offering more affordable tablet options, and while many of you agree that they are not half as good as the iPad, many consumers will settle because of their competitive prices – the only way that Apple can combat this is by offering an iPad Mini.

Will there actually be a smaller iPad? – While most rumors would suggest that the iPad Mini is coming and we acknowledged that it is very much needed, this is also the case with the iPhone. Many of us would want a cheaper iPhone Mini, but instead all we get from Apple is the older model with a reduced price once they release another generation.
