Countdown: Apple iPad mini event live stream and video
Today we should learn if Apple is to unveil a new smaller tablet, which will bring them into a newer market. It’s assumed that the event being held later today is for the iPad Mini, which if true will mean that app developers will have to make a few changes in order for the multitude of gaming apps to work on a different size screen.
The countdown to the Apple iPad Mini event has now begun, and there are less than 4 hours to go until a number of blogs will have a live stream of the event. The time of the event is 10am Pacific Time, which is 1PM Eastern Time and 6PM in the UK. Tim Cook could surprise us and unveil something completely different, but all the rumors seem to suggest that Apple will be doing what Steve Jobs vowed he would never do, and that’s release a smaller iPad.
Let’s not think that Apple has let Steve down, because they have not. Apple has come under constant pressure from rivals who have released a multitude of tablets with different display sizes. Those of you Apple faithful have been asking for greater choice because to some the iPad is too large and the iPhone is too small, so a compromise is needed.

I love my iPhone 5 (apart from one or two issues) but playing games on the device for long periods of time is not an enjoyable experience. The same can be said for the iPad, playing games is far better, but can often become uncomfortable after some time. This is not the only reason why a happy medium is needed though, as the price has always been a major factor. The iPad has done well over the years, but seeing the Amazon Kindle Fire HD shows just how cheap you can pick up a semi-decent tablet for, so Apple needs to offer a cheaper option.
As we mentioned above there will be a number of live blogs streaming the Apple event, so you will have a choice to make, although we’re certain that you always stick to a particular blog. Engadget will be on hand, as will CNET and Gizmodo. However, if you have an Apple TV, then Apple will be broadcasting a live video stream of the media event. Apple is also expected to refresh a few other models during the event, what do you think they will be?
