Minecraft 1.4 (Halloween) update release live tomorrow
With Xbox 360 owners having already downloaded the latest Minecraft update for their console, it was the turn of PC users to get an improved version. Today was meant to be the day when the Minecraft 1.4 update went live, but it has since been delayed until tomorrow due to several bugs – goes well with the Halloween theme don’t you think?
The Minecraft Pretty Scray update has suffered from a few code issues, which has caused the game to react in a very strange way. We’re being told that the problems include Mobs unable to breath in open air and if that were bad enough are coming to a sad end by sinking through solid wood floors. However, we do find it strange how the developers feel that the wet wolves are far too scary – it would fit with the Halloween theme.
As yet we have no idea as to what time the Minecraft 1.4 update will be available for PC owners, but we’ll let you know when it the download goes live. However, modders can already get their hands on the pre-release, which allows them to see the many fixes that will be included in the latest update. View these updates below.
Apart from the zombies there will also be Wither skeletons, scary bats, wicked witches, a three-headed Wither boss and keeping with the Halloween tradition some pumpkin pie as well. We have a couple of videos for you below, the first runs for just over half and hour and covers many aspects of what we can expect from Minecraft 1.4, while the second allows us to see those bloodthirsty zombies in action – Black Ops 2 Zombies Mode on a budget.
However, there’s far more to this update than a few monsters and other scary creatures, being able to use Anvils to combine or repair items is something that has been needed for a while now, so finally nice to see it coming tomorrow. However, the improved modding and villager AI has to be two of the best features in the update, would you agree?
