Minecraft updates secures title, Black Ops 2 awaits

The Xbox 360 edition of Minecraft seems to be doing very well at the moment and for the first time in ages, it seems that a Call of Duty title is not holding the top spot when it comes to Xbox LIVE activity charts. Only yesterday Microsoft reveled that Minecraft is now up there as the most played game, which also shows that this title has made a name for itself as a LIVE Arcade game at the top of the list.

With Minecraft, securing a decent second position since its release the 1.8.2 “Adventure Update”, which has been available since last week, has given it a well-deserved push to the number one spot for the week ending October 15, 2012. Highlighting this news, Examiner also provides a list of the most popular games being played online, and with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 dropping to second, FIFA Soccer 13 is a close third with Black Ops at number 4. Minecraft is also at the top of the Xbox LIVE Arcade chart with titles like The Walking Dead, Sonic Adventure 2, and Trials Evolution below.

Many gamers may feel this is subject to change once the highly anticipated Black Ops 2 and Halo 4 are released and we are interested to know how the likes of Minecraft will do when these titles are accessible. As far as the recent 1.8.2 update is concerned last week we spoke about the download time rollout for the Xbox 360 and whether our readers took sometime out of their day waiting for this, as this has been expected for sometime. In a recent post about the PC version, we highlighted the release of the Minecraft 1.4 (Halloween) update that goes live today.

This update was initially meant to come out yesterday but it was delayed due to concerns with several bugs, so we hope that all goes well and PC users get this in time for Halloween. We are unsure of the exact time this will be available, so let us know whether you have obtained this yet.
