Awards not marred by Skyrim Dawnguard PS3 neglect 2

Bethesda knew that they had something special when they released The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and were pretty confidant that their new game would win some awards along the way. We had assumed that the many setbacks that some gamers have been experiencing with Skyrim would have marred the results of the recent Golden Joystick Awards, but they did not.

We have been hearing from certain gamers that the bugs that those with the PlayStation 3 version had experienced along with what others are calling “Skyrim Dawnguard PS3 neglect” should have meant that Skyrim should have been disqualified. However, this is a harsh thing to do and would not have been fair to those who have been unaffected by these problems.

I myself can certainly sympathize with those who were affected with the terrible PS3 bugs, but also the ongoing saga with the lack of DLC support as well. However, there’s still no getting away from the fact that Skyrim is still a fantastic game, if it were not then gamers would not have cast their votes in the first place.

Awards not marred by Skyrim Dawnguard PS3 neglect 2

Having played Skyrim for many hours on my PS3 (with bugs as well), it does not sway my opinion that The Elder Scrolls V deserves to be Game of the Year, because no other game has demanded such commitment. Okay, so it would have been nice to have some new content by now, but that just gave me a chance to play other games, such as Max Payne, Xcom: Enemy Unknown and other such titles.

If Bethesda were to release Skyrim DLC for the PS3 on the games 1-year anniversary then I would have a dilemma on my hands, as I have been looking forward to the release of Assassin’s Creed 3 and Black Ops 2, and I’m sure I’m not the only one.

Do you think that Skyrim deserved to win Top Gaming Moment, best RPG and Game of the Year even with all its faults?

Daw.... Dawnwhat? *Goes back to killing redcoats in AC3 =3*

skyrim is a phenomenal game, as a ps3 owner i'm extremely disappointed that i'm missing out on such a sweet dlc but such is life. For just 60 bucks, skyrim gave me hours and hours of entertainment and i am very grateful for betheseda in creating it. skyrim should sweep all the awards that are out there

Bethesda must have step on peoples head and elbow their way to get this award. Go Bethesda !

.i think they like their awards more than the ps3 users. i aint buying dawnguard unless its free. i already bought MoP (Mists of Pandaria for World of Warcraft. go ahead and call me a nerd) and i pre-ordered AC3. so bethesda, your not getting any money from me

How can you buy Dawnguard if it's free? Oh and I haven't played Skyrim since I bought Dawnguard. Irony? Maybe.

Lol Kim did kind of get you there. Just saying... I would love free, but I doubt it. I'd say 9.99 like most DLC's, and/or bundle Harthfire for free. So maybe $15 with free Hearthfire? I think would be fair. Harthfires only five bucks so no big lost there, and we should get some kind of discount for this Dawnguard crap. And come on they have to do something to compete with Borderlands 2 ,AC3, and Black Ops2. Halo 4 also if your like me who blows the dust off their Xbox for Halo games..... Still only argument I get for "why the Xbox is better"... I guess I can expect "Beth loves us too"..... Doesn't matter if they don't do anything to make up for this on my gaming choice I still wont give Beth any money for a copy of their games for Xbox... Well heck wasn't even planing on giving them any more money in the future in the first place.

no it didnt it shld have fixed the problems with ps3 1st

Ok sure it was a freaking awesome game. And the dlc shouldn't hold it back for these awards. (Well the dlc award it kinda does). But I'm still frustrated that they haven't figured it out yet and they failed to get it out before many new releases come out. Right now I'm playing BF3 and 2k13 and with Assassins Creed 3 coming out tonight/tomorrow, any skyrim dlc that might get released wont be played by me.

An apology at the rewards ceromony would be good enough but they would never take the responsibility like that.

idk, man. if only bethesda would bite the bullet and admit they f*cked up on the ps3 version then i'll be ok about

It's not their fault, blame Sony for forcing devs to program for a difficult console.

Why does anyone attempt to make this point? Bethesda is the ONLY company still having problems coding for PS3. It's not because the PS3 is difficult to code for, it's because they didnt code for the PS3. They coded for Microsoft products and then copied and pasted into the PS3.

I think they have. Quite a lot.
