FIFA 13 succumbs to Medal of Honor Warfighter

With FIFA 13 recently being knocked off the top of the multiformat chart in the UK, EA will be glad to know that is one of their own titles, as Medal of Honor Warfighter is now sitting on the summit after this weeks’ top ten results. Another game doing well at the moment is Xbox 360 exclusive Forza Horizon, becoming the best-selling individual title, the arrival of Halo 4 and Black Op 2 is bound to shake the charts up further over the next couple of months.

This may come as a surprise to some who feel the Medal Of Honor series is on a downward spiral, although it didn’t manage to outsell its 2010 predecessor, and both debuts still haven’t exceeded Medal Of Honor: Frontline and Rising Sun. Highlighting the recent chart status, Metro report on how as far as the individual formats chart is concerned Warfighter has not managed to top these charts and Forza Horizon is top for the Xbox, although we have no comparison to how well it has regarding the previous titles.

3DS exclusive Professor Layton And The Miracle Mask has done well at number seven in both charts and Moshi Monsters: Moshlings Theme Park is also featuring highly at number eight in the multiformat chart. There is still good news for FIFA 13 as this game has only seen a 17 percent drop in sales, still outselling FIFA 12 by 20 percent for the same timeframe. In other related news, an article on Media Connection Online mentions Medal of Honor Warfighter hitting stores globally and refers to Warfighter as this year’s only true modern military shooter experience.

Highlighting the 12 Tier 1 units from 10 different nations they expect this will provide one of the best multiplayer experiences of the year, and the Frostbite 2 game engine, apparently makes this version much better than its predecessor. In our last Warfighter post we spoke about the review score being affected by campaign length, which is regarded as short, it seems the storyline is not as compelling as previous iterations. The sound, lighting and destruction have been held in high regard, yet the amount of unoriginal ideas involved show that not many risks taken with Warfighter, and the length of the campaign should be longer.

In FIFA 13 news, last week we looked at the new patch 1.02 download live, and EA’s comments in regards to the delay for console users, although we are still hearing complaints about the patch 1.0.2, concerning Career mode crashes.
