Halo 4 review score not swayed by production costs
Apparently, Halo 4 goes down as the most expensive game ever produced by Microsoft, although that alone is not going to sway the overall review scores, as games are not defined by their production costs. When you think of a new title having had money ploughed into it the first thing that comes to mind is how good this is going to be, yet the quality of the game is what we are really concerned with.
According to Phil Spencer of Microsoft Studios, Halo 4 is so expensive that no other game even comes close, and this title is the “most important entertainment product in the company.” Highlighting these comments Fudzilla also mentions the imminent release and how this is expected to be the best game of the franchise, to date. There is a notion that this release will break previous sales records, so Microsoft have taken a big risk here with the introduction of 343 Industries, as they pin their hopes on the success of this franchise with more titles expected.
Some gamers have reservations about Mr. Spencer’s way of trying to hype up the game further, although we still stress that production cost has little to do with quality, and there have been many examples made, as one remark from a gamer mentioned how much money was spent on the movie Waterworld, which ended up a flop. In other Halo 4 news, last week we wrote about the map pack release details for Crimson, Majestic and Castle maps, and how a discount of 15 percent can be saved by signing up to the War Games Pass for $24.99 USD or 2,000 MS Points.
In other news, our previous post reported on Halo 4 losing to Black Ops 2 on pre-orders, even though the new Call of Duty is only topping the charts by a small margin. It seems Halo 4 is on the top in the Xbox charts, but Black Ops 2 is not too far behind, and this is probably all that matters to Xbox owners. This doesn’t come as surprising news to many considering Halo 4 is only exclusive to one console, whereas CoD is a multiplatform title that is bound to sell well, especially among PS3 gamers that do not have the option of Halo 4. What do you think about Phil Spencer’s comments on how expensive this game is? Are you reserving judgment until you have had the chance to experience the Halo 4?

MASTER CHIEF is back I'm the only person where I work that plays HALO. Dont get me wrong I love zombies, it is the only reason why that franchise has touched my console. I will do the same thing that I have done the last two ZOMBIE games. NOT PLAY IT FOR A YEAR then demolish them and make them weep that I get the easter eggs before them, the last one BIGBANG, I waited a year before showing them the easy way to to get it. So glad HALO is back I can quit listening to people complain and whine when they go down. IM SO PETTY
i always buy COD, Ialways buy halo.......this time i'm buying halo and letting COD be the same fish it has been for 6yrs online. 343 changed the games with reach won me back to halo and i cant wait.....
Halo titles are generally going to be expensive to make because they take a few years to produce. Cod games come out every other year, so its really hard to compare the Halo series to any other series. And we all know microsoft employees make bank. I live in Seattle so i know. Halo 4 will be epic. anybody who thinks it wont is either a steve jobs fanboy or an idiot....or both.
steve jobs fanboy? I love apple but they have nothing to do with video games, microsoft doesnt even compete with them in that respect. i think you mean a playstation fanboy
I think when he said "Steve Jobs fanboy" he ment that the competition lately between apple and Windows (Made by Microsoft). Although apple isn't based on Games, just to correct #Nick_Big_Smoke.
I think you're forgetting that Halo 3 had a ludicrously boring campaign when you say that this will be epic. Halo 4 does look better but Halo 2 was the last great Halo besides Reach, which I really enjoyed despite what some people had to say about it.
And what have you been smoking? For me Halo 3 is my all time favourite game. Halo Reach was alright, but I missed playing as Master Chief. And Halo 2 is good, but my opinion is Halo 3 is the game of all Halos
I don't know man. I think the campaign of Halo 3 was better, but the halo 2 multiplayer was the best ever. And the custom games that were created were so much fun. Real Zombies on Foundation? President? BorderPatrol? Cat and Mouse? Plus the Halo 2 swat was unbelievably accurate, and... BXRing, Sword cancelling? Double and triple BR shots? And bouncing out of the map?
