Update: Justifying GTA 5 fixation ahead of release
If you thought that the past year has been very slow when it comes to Grand Theft Auto V news, then you’re going to love the next few weeks because there is to be a great amount of insight into GTA V. Fans of the franchise have had a fixation on GTA 5 ever since they learned about the game, and they have since been justifying this by voting at the recent Golden Joystick Awards 2012.
GTA 5 has been awarded the One to Watch (Skyrim won Game of the Year by the way), but this was the obvious choice since it has already been voted as the most anticipated game in a recent poll. Now while we can clearly see the appeal and why fans have been voting for Grand Theft Auto V, we have to ask you if other games deserved the award more?
The reason we ask this is because voters could have gone for other titles that were not sequels, maybe a game like Watch Dogs deserved to win the One to Watch award instead? Do you feel that this award has just served to help market Rockstar’s game even though it didn’t need it? Some gamers would have you believe that this award should have gone to a lesser-known game, but if this were the case then voters would have not voted for GTA V in the first place.

There has been some concern that when Rockstar finally releases GTA 5 then it might not come on the PC or the Wii U at first, which when you look at previous versions is no real surprise. As for the release date we’re hoping to learn those details next month, along with a bunch of other stuff as well. These details can be read in the December issue of Game Informer, which indecently will be available to purchase from November 8th 2012.
Update: Rockstar has officially announced that Grand Theft Auto V will release in Spring 2013, and for now will only be working on the PS3 and Xbox 360 version. You will be able to pre-order the game from the 5th of November 2012.
